Saturday, September 22 - Southern Oaks POA is holding its annual sale and barbecue, a fundraiser for its many community-wide activities. Shop for gently used furniture, tools, kitchen items, patio stuff, appliances, toys and much more! PLUS, enjoy delicious BBQ brisket at only $6 per meal. Southern Oaks is located just north of Shell Station on FM 416. Sale hours are 8 am to 2 pm. BBQ served 11 am to 2 pm.

Through Saturday, September 22 - The Warehouse Living Arts Center, 119 West Sixth Avenue, Corsicana, presents DOUBLEWIDE, TEXAS, a live play about the inhabitants of one of the smallest trailer parks in Texas threatened to be annexed by a nearby town. Nightly at 7:30 pm; Adults $15 Seniors/Students $13, Children under 12, $10.

Sunday September 23 - Pastor Holly and Pastor Van are coming to share an amazing sermon you don't want to miss at Word Alive church in the old movie theater in Corsicana behind Jack in the Box. The service starts at 10 am. We do not have a cut off time for the service. You are more than welcome to leave when you need to. You are welcome to be a part of this special day.

Saturday October 6 - Corsicana Home Depot October Fire Safety Event from 9 am - 12 pm. Bring the entire family out for a morning of games and learning. Join in their kid's workshop and build a fireboat, and jump in the bounce house. Corsicana Police, Fire, and Navarro County Volunteer Fire Departments will be there, along with a real rescue helecopter.

Saturday October 6 - Blooming Grove Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry and Auction Fundraiser from 5-9 pm at the Blooming Grove Fire Station. Come support the Volunteer Fire Department, bid on great auction items, and eat the best fish around. Auction items (new or homemade) and baked good donations will be accepted until the event starts!

Beaton St, will be hosting a Veterans Clinic with a representative from the VA Regional Office in Waco to answer your questions about your VA benefits, and local attorneys to assist you with legal questions. Tuesday, October 9 - The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE), Chapter 1191, will hold its monthly meeting in Waxahachie at the Asian King Buffet, 507 N. Hwy 77, Suite 950, in the Northgate Shopping Center, across from Osuba Restaurant and Whataburger from 11 am until 1 pm. NARFE Chapter 1191 has members from Ellis, Navarro and surrounding counties. If you have an unserviceable US, state, M.I.A., or military flag, bring it to the American Legion, 632 N. Beaton St. If the post is closed, you can place the flag in a plastic bag and hang it on the front door. After 2 pm daily, bring it inside. If you can not afford a new US flag, the American Legion will replace your unserviceable US flag with a new US Flag. Meals on Wheels needs your GROCERY BAGS! Please deliver plastic grocery bags to their office at 1805 N. Beaton Street between 8:30 am and 1:30 pm Monday - Friday.

Meals on Wheels Program is in need of volunteers Monday - Friday for meal deliveries. Each delivery route takes about an hour and is typically delivered between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm every day. Honor Flight DFW is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that is committed to flying veterans, at no cost to the veteran, round trip to Washington, DC with a one night stay, to see the WW II Memorial and other monuments in the Washington area. They will fly any veteran of a War era since WW II, but priority is for WW II and terminally ill veterans. They have a "guardian" assigned to each veteran to assist him or her during the trip and a volunteer medical staff for each flight. Honor Flight DFW pays for the cost for the veteran and all others pay their own expenses. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment for a felony crime. Call Crime Stoppers tip line (903) 874-TIPS (8477) with the information. You do not have to give your name. You will be given a number and that is the only way Crime Stoppers can identify you.

Angus Crime Watch meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of each month at the Angus Government Center.

Grandparents Raising Grandkids Support Group will meet at FBC Eureka at 8718 S Hwy 287 Eureka Tx the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. The purpose of this group is to provide support, and encouragement, as well as offer helpful and informative information with occasional speakers coming in. The Corsicana Animal Shelter is in need of dog food, such as Pedigree (adult and small breed), Kibbles N Bits Original Flavor (adult and small breed, small bites), and Purina Smart Blend dog food. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter during regular operating hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 12 to 6 pm, and on Saturdays from 12 until 4 pm.

Tehuacana Baptist Church in Limestone county sponsors a Gospel/Bluegrass/Country music night the second Friday of each month starting at approximately 6 pm., and goes until the last singer gives up and goes home (about 10 pm). We have an open mic, and anyone that can sing, or think they can sing or play, or just want to enjoy the music, are welcome to come and join us. Have an old cell phone or phones cluttering up their home? The Angels of Corsicana Troop Support has the answer. Just bring those old phones by their office on Bus. 45 across from the old hat factory any morning from 9-11 M-F or drop them off at Corley Funeral Home. The phones will be bundled and forwarded them to a company that refurbishes them and sends then to the troops to use.
