The Navarro County Farmers Market is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 7 am until noon This is a seasonal open air market located at 408 E. Sixth Avenue at Business 45 between East Collin Street and East Sixth Avenue in Corsicana near the Corsicana Daily Sun building. They sell vegetables, fruits, fresh yard eggs, honey, jams, jellies, herbs, plants, baked goods, and much more. Please support our local farmers!


Meals on Wheels needs volunteers to deliver meals to our senior neighbors, stop and enjoy a short friendly visit, and observe to ensure the senior is doing well. Most routes take less than an hour. You choose how often you volunteer: once a week, a month, or just on occasion. You'll need your own transportation, a valid drivers license, car insurance, a working mobile phone, and pass a background check. Food Truck Friday is held on the first Friday of every month from April through September. Food and drink vendors from all over converge on downtown Corsicana. Live music, games, and of course, food trucks will be in the city parking lot behind Brick Streets Brewery, 224 E. 5th Ave., from 6-9 pm. This fun, family event is sponsored by Corsicana Main Street.


Mimosas at the Market is held from 10 am to 3 pm the second Saturday of each month. This event attracts locals and tourists from all over Texas to stroll our historic streets, sip on refreshing complimentary mimosas, and enjoy downtown shopping for everyone. The Navarro County Early Childhood Coalition will present Child Safety Days on three Thursday evenings. Parents and other caregivers will learn how to have a fun summer while keeping children safe. These are free, face-to-face sessions with experts on each topic. Grace Community Church hosts two of the events and assists with childcare at each event. Food will be provided. Those who attend will receive a children's book and a chance to win door prizes. Participants who attend all three sessions will also receive an Altitude Trampoline gift card.

Corsicana City Pools are open for the season. Bunert Park Pool will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 1 to 6 pm. $2 per person. 903-641-0769. The Corsicana Main Street program is looking for donations for Goodie Bags to be distributed to visitors for an upcoming baseball tournament in Corsicana. They are gearing up for the Dixie Youth State baseball tournament that will be held July 2-4. Main Street and the tournament committee and working to gather donations for the players "swag" bags and coaches bags. In total, they need to have 275 bags (215 players bags, 60 coaches bags). The families are all looking for things to do and places to eat so they will most definitely be receiving information to visit downtown. Last year they filled over 400 hotel rooms with thousands of visitors in town for the event. If you want to be a part of this, please get the items to the Main Street office by June 28. HOPE TO GO FOOD PANTRY, a partner agency of the North Texas Food Bank, is now in operation. Navarro County residents may receive free food in emergency situations without qualifying based on income. The office is open from 9 am to 4 pm Tuesday through Thursday at Mildred Baptist Church at 5502 S. Hwy 287, directly across from the Mildred schools. Monday, July 4 - Blooming Grove Independence Day Parade at 10:30 am. If you are interested in having a float or riding on a float, line up on the high school parking lot at 10 am. Monday, July 4 - Independence Day Celebration at the Kerens Veteran Memorial in downtown Kerens under the shade trees in the Garden Park. Enjoy children's games, a cake walk, and live fireworks after dark. Cold water will be provided. Musicians and singers will be performing old gospel and patriotic songs from 7 to 8:30 pm. Bring your lawn chairs, sit in the shade, pat your feet, clap your hands, and sing along.

The community event that helps students achieve their dreams by providing some of the necessities needed to kick-start the 2022-2023 school year. Parents and guardians will have the opportunity to visit booths and enter giveaways and prizes while learning about the resources available to help their student succeed. The mission of the Back to School/Stay in School Rally is an ongoing effort to promote the retention and graduation of all youth. Mimosas at the Market is held on the second Saturday of every month in Downtown Corsicana from 10 am to 3 pm. Join us for shopping with friends and sipping mimosas in Downtown Corsicana.

Compassion Corsicana is located at 517 N Commerce Street, across from Salvation Army. They offer nutritious food to residents who meet the income requirements. They partner with the North Texas Food Bank and several local stores and community members to provide nutritious food for those in need. Residents may visit the pantry once per month for groceries, and weekly for produce. All you need is an ID or bill showing you live in Navarro Co. Volunteer Fire Departments are in need of bottled water. Also, if you have a refrigerator you don't need, please consider donating it to your local Volunteer Fire Department. They can use it!

If you have an unserviceable US, state, M.I.A., or military flag, bring it to the American Legion, 632 N. Beaton St. If the post is closed, you can place the flag in a plastic bag and hang it on the front door. After 2 pm daily, bring it inside. If you can not afford a new US flag, the American Legion will replace your unserviceable US flag with a new US Flag. Honor Flight DFW is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that is committed to flying veterans, at no cost to the veteran, round trip to Washington, DC with a one night stay, to see the WW II Memorial and other monuments in the Washington area. They will fly any veteran of a War era since WW II, but priority is for WW II and terminally ill veterans. They have a "guardian" assigned to each veteran to assist him or her during the trip and a volunteer medical staff for each flight. Honor Flight DFW pays for the cost for the veteran and all others pay their own expenses. For more information about this organization and flight schedules, visit www.honorflightdfw.org. This is one way for us to honor our veterans while we still have them around.

Grandparents Raising Grandkids Support Group will meet at FBC Eureka at 8718 S Hwy 287 Eureka Tx the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. The purpose of this group is to provide support, and encouragement, as well as offer helpful and informative information with occasional speakers coming in. Just bring those old phones by their office on Bus. 45 across from the old hat factory any morning from 9-11 M-F or drop them off at Corley Funeral Home. The phones will be bundled and forwarded them to a company that refurbishes them and sends then to the troops to use.
