The familiar Red Kettle Campaign of The Salvation Army is in full swing here in Corsicana. Every dollar raised through the iconic Red Kettle Campaign remains in the community in which it was given and makes it possible for The Salvation Army to deliver life changing programs and services throughout the year. Red Kettles will be stationed outside area stores and local businesses, Monday through Saturday through Christmas Eve. Donors can give on their smartphone using Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and Venmo right there at the red kettle. Visit www.SalvationArmyCorsicana.org or call 903-874-7131 to donate or learn more about how you can support The Salvation Army this Christmas.

Also underway is the 2022 Angel Tree program, with gift wishes for several hundred children in Navarro County. There are over 20 locations hosting Angel Trees this year. You can select one or more Angels from the tree, purchase gifts for them and return them to the Angel Tree location and the gifts will be distributed by the Salvation Army at Christmastime. Thousands of families continue to struggle in the current economy, and many live from paycheck to paycheck. The Salvation Army is there, not only at Christmastime, but all year round to help when times are tough; when people are forced to choose between paying the rent or the utility bill, when families need help putting food on the table, or when children need school supplies or new clothes for the school year.

The Corsicana Police Pepartment is now accepting applications for this year's Operation Blue Santa. If you know families in need of gifts for their children, please fill out a Blue Santa application. Applications can be picked up in the lobby of the Corsicana Police Department. Those who would like to donate can do so by bringing new unwrapped toys to the lobby at the police department.
